Atlanta Pics here. I’ll post my favorites and share some stories soon.
I’m still trying to find a good place to upload my 200+ pictures of Atlanta. I promise I’ll blog more about the trip soon enough. Here’s a preview of one of the highlights of the trip, the whale shark! I must’ve taken close to 100 pictures of the two whale sharks they had at the Georgia Aquarium. Seeing them fly above you or appear from the distance was just an awe-inspiring moment.
Moving back to Boston tomorrow to start my spring semester of my junior year. Definitely ready to get back to school, but kind of nervous about this new semester. Could be tough.
Anyways, I went on a vacation to Atlanta this week. It was my first vacation in a LOONG time. I definitely needed it. Anywho, I have TONS of pictures I’ll be uploading to the site and flickr really soon. Just need to get them organized and photoshop a few of them so they actually look like stuff. Canon SD550 digital camera is an awesome camera to take on vacation, I might add. Look to see lots of pics soon, especially of the new Georgia Aquarium!

So one of the funniest sites I have ever come across came from a link in one of my facebook groups that I’m a part of, “I Have Black Friends.” Although it’s not the most PC group and I am not one to play the race card, being a BU student and being around the whitest white folks I have ever met, having black friends is a big deal. The sad evidence towards my statement is the group barely has 40 people. Anywho, the official website for the group is http://www.blackpeopleloveus.com. It is hilarious, check it out. Even my black friends would appreciate it, I think. To my white friends, please don’t try this at home.
If anyone wants to know the pressures of being me, read this article. Even though I attend another college across the Charles from MIT, I’m learning the same college lessons. You see folks, you don’t need to go to MIT to learn things.
Forward: This post has little to do with the University of Texas Longhorns.
I have to come clean with people. I’m a HUGE fan of Stargate: SG1, the series on SCI-FI and am uber-excited for Friday night television, when new seasons of both Stargates (SG-1 and Atlantis) and Battlestar Galactica premiere tomorrow night.
As if that wasn’t bad enough, thanks to marathons of all three shows this week on SCI-FI, I’ve become obsessed with Stargate: Atlantis and Battlestar Galactica too. So it’s official, I have a SCI-FI problem.
I’m still not ready to admit I’ve been watching Starting Over daily over break and cannot wait for Dancing with the Stars tonight. Slow steps.
To save my machismo, how about them Longhorns! Vince Young is da’ man.
I only have like 4 days left, really, to finish everything I swear I’d get done. So here it is, in no order
1) Learn basic SQL
2) Upload photos on computer to Flickr, all of them (yes, that means the slideshow).
3) Finish customizing this theme/website layout.
4) Make the blog the homepage.
5) Transfer more photos from digital camera to Flickr.
…I’ve moved out of Blogger and into my own domain name, with free hosting by way of Kirsh (THANK YOU!!!), and into a new blogging system, WordPress 2.0. Besides the fact that it’s free, it’s pretty cool. You can see that I’m working on creating a custom theme for my blog, and eventually, will incorporate the blog as my homepage and start of a larger website. The cool thing with WordPress is it can be used as a whole content management system, so I can make all the webpages I need to from the admin section, and they’ll retain my theme.
I’m having lots of fun learning CSS and PHP also. The larger issue is there’s so many cool things I can take this blog design, I have no idea where to start. Every day, I learn a cool new trick or piece of code, and every day I get inspired by another blog’s design. It’s tough figuring how personal vs professional I want my blog to be.
