I think this is the southern lighthouse. It’s the one closest to the port. Had to bike up a MONSTROUS hill to get here. Man, I didn’t get a chance to stretch or anything, my legs were mush by the time I got off the bike. Let’s just say things didn’t get any better the rest of the day. The lighthouse was closed, but there was a nice view of the ocean in front of the lighthouse.

This is the ferry approaching port. This part of the island is covered with small shops, restaurants, and hotels. Kind of cool. We weren’t here for long. We rented bikes from Moped Man (great deals!) and were off. I fell off my bike immediately and had to get a smaller one. Haha. My Napoleon Complex never ceases to amaze me.

You can see the cliffs of BLock Island about 5 minutes into the ferry ride. It’s a wonder why it takes an hour to get there. The cliffs are really spectacular, as you’ll see in later pictures.

About to leave Point Judith, RI. We took the regular ferry over, it takes an hour to reach Block Island. I wish I took a picture of the name of the boat. The fishing boats were really cool too. It’s been a long time since I’ve been close to a beach or port.

Block Island

Last Friday, I went to the “off-site meeting” our department was having at Block Island. Off-site meeting, in non-corporate terms, means “an excuse to get out of the office and still get paid”. The interns were pushing hard to get invited to the event since the begining of the summer, but once we finally did, everyone backed out except for Intern Dan and I.

Even we wavered, but I’m glad we went. Although it was mostly people in our office that I never worked directly with, everyone was hilarious, fun, and totally caring. We biked all of Block Island, and visited some really cool sites, like the two lighthouses, a part of the island where waves collide, and a shack by the cliffs. Pictures, taken with my totally new and awesome Sony Ericsson s710a, are included above with commentary (aside: The Motorola RAZR’s are way overrated, folks. Get this one!).

By the way, be it known that I could not keep up with my middle-aged to older coworkers. I’m that out of shape. I have the torn calf muscles to prove it.

Third Blog Ever!

Decided to start a new, more blog-like blog. Who would’ve thought? Just a place to clear my thoughts and such.

Yup…so…nothing really to say. Just kind of bored. I need to fix this colorscheme. I’ll like to something sometime.
